Owners John and Sandy Rock are celebrating 28 years in the ski business.
After both graduating with business degrees from Providence College and University of Rhode Island, John and Sandy made a move north to New Hampshire in 1976 to help John's parents re-establish the Arlberg Inn Ski Shop in Gilford.
Having a passion for skiing, both admit they have a "dream job". "We love what we do and we're proud of our successful business growth. We have great managers and a good team of dedicated employees". Our return and repeat business is strong because we're all skiers and riders who LOVE what we do for work.
Managers
Marc Whittaker - Scarborough, Maine
Marc has been with Arlberg for 20 years. He's a newcomer! Marc claims his reason for staying is because he knows nothing else except the ski business. Fellow employees and customers know differently. Marc's friendly attitude and his attention to detail have earned him the respect of customers over the years, he knows the majority of his clientele by first name and can often be heard offering a hearty greeting at the front door. Marc is an avid snowboarder and prides himself as being the 'Arlberg Snowboard Guru'. If it's snowboards, skis, the latest boot technologies or what outfit is going to keep you dry in the North East, Marc is the man.
James Fullerton - Freeport, Maine
- Skier since 1966
- Snowboarder since 1986
- Certified Instructor since 1982
Jim started as a technician for Arlberg in 1985 and has been in the ski/snowboard industry for over 25 years. "I've seen many shops come and go since joining the team in '85. I believe our success can be attributed to three major aspects:"
- Providing personalized individual service
- Treating customers fairly
- Test everything we sell
Being an avid outdoor enthusiast, Jim can be found skiing on his days off all season long testing the gear as he likes to say. "We would rather you buy it elsewhere than sell you the wrong gear! See you on the hill."
